Swiss Steak With Mushroom Gravy

4 Tbsp. butter (1/2 cube)
1/4 c. onion
1/4 c. flour
1 can Campbell's cream of mushroom soup
1 round steak (remove fat and bone)

Cut meat into serving pieces. Anything from 1 x 1-inch to 5 x 5-inch, or even cut in strips 1 x 5-inches. Salt and pepper each side (optional). Melt butter in frying pan and brown onions. Add flour, stir until brown. Add soup and 1 can water. Stir until it thickens a little. Makes mushroom gravy mixture. In a baking dish put one layer of mushroom gravy, then one layer of meat until all gravy and meat are gone. The last (top) layer should be gravy-soup mixture.

Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours or until meat is tender.
